Why we started LovIT?

Did you know that when we communicate 55% of what people receive from the communication is taken from nonverbal cues or in effect the way you look, move, listen, or react lets a person know how much you care about what you’re saying. 38% of how someone receives your communication is based on your tone of voice, happy, serious, angry etc and just 7% of the communication received is the actual words you say. We know this yet we’re all still happy to do business predominantly through email, phone and the written word.
We do this for a number of reasons, we always have, its easy, it saves time but the question we need to ask is whether its effective or indeed efficient and what are the hidden costs?

In the 8 years I spent at the helm of a leading Property Maintenance and facility management company the sustainable solutions I was sold were ‘sweaty palm’ expensive. And very few (if any) were created with our sector in mind. I felt like they were made without any real understanding of what we need to do to get the job done, I’d even go as far as to suggest that those building it had never worked a day in building management, maintenance and repair, or property management.Consistently let down by the failings of these solutions I decided to do it myself. So, I walked away from my 20-year career and in partnership with one of the sharpest minds in digital tech started LovIT.
Something very close to my heart is being the chair for the Surrey chapter of BITA. BITA is an organisation that is about people helping people across two great nations in the UK and Ireland.
